Sad to say but the era of flash has already reached it's apex After 2020, Adobe will be pulling the plug ending the flash era and stop releasing updates for Flash. Newer versions of web browsers will also no longer support it.  And so as the web player which is already unsupported with some browser like chrome, firefox etc. which targets plugins that uses Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface (NPAPI). One of the reason for transitioning is " NPAPI’s 90s-era architecture has become a leading cause of hangs, crashes, security incidents, and code complexity. " With browsers of today's generation are speedier, safer, and more capable than their ancestors the introduction of HTML5 which removes the use of NPAPI.  WebGL, Stage3D etc. are some of the few replacements for flash and web player only time can tell if this successors can beat the features and performance of it's predecessors.
